Councillor Vacancies at Yapton Parish Council
We are looking for 4 new Parish Councillors—could it be you?
The Parish Council is looking for suitably qualified and talented local people to fill these vacancies as quickly as possible by co-opting four new members without the need for a local election. Do you have skills and knowledge that could help our local community? Or just an interest in village life. lf so, you may be just the type of person we need. YOU need to be able to give up one evening every other month to attend Parish Council meetings, and in return you will receive the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping your local community.
The Full Council meets on the second Monday of every other the month at 7.00pm at the Yapton & Ford Village Hall, Main Road Yapton, BN18 0ET.
The new Councillors will hold office until the local elections in May 2027.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and a British subject or a citizen of the Commonwealth or European Union and must satisfy at least one of the following:
- be a local government elector for the Parish of Yapton
- have, during the whole of the previous 12 months, occupied land or other property in the parish, either as owner or tenant
- have, during the whole of the previous 12 months, had your principal or only place of work in the parish
- have resided in the parish during the whole of the previous 12 months

Details of the Application Process and for an Application Form which can be downloaded here, or by downloading from the Parish Council Website www.yaptonpc.gov.uk .Applications should be returned to the Clerk by the closing date for receipt of applications.
The closing date for receipt of completed applications will be 26th June 2023.
Interviews will be held before a panel of Councillors in the week commencing 3rd July and successful candidates will be confirmed at the full Parish Council Meeting on the 10th July 2023.
