raised concerns about apparently unauthorised development which was taking
place at 1 - 2 Canal Cottages and drew the Committee's attention to the fact
that this was in a Conservation Area. The Chairman advised that the District Council's Compliance

23 Foundry Road Yapton NO OBJECTION |
17. With reference to Planning Application Y/86/09/T,
the grounds for the objection were as follows:
i) The
Council believes that London plane trees are fairly rare in this area and would
not like to see this example removed, unless there is no alternative.
ii)
Therefore it is considered that other options such as tree husbandry should be
explored as a way of resolving any concerns over the condition of the tree.
iii)
Should it be agreed that no alternative is available following assessment by
the District Council's Arbiculturalist, the Council would ask that a
replacement London plane tree be planted in a more suitable location which
makes allowance for any future land use plans.
18. With reference to Planning Application Y/9/10/,
the grounds for the objection were as follows:
i) The proposed dwelling
appears larger than adjacent surrounding buildings and it is considered
unsightly because of the lengthy roof line.
ii) The proposed dwelling is
considered to be out of character and appearance for the area.
