PLANNING APPLICATIONS

The Planning Committee had before them and considered the following planning application and resolved as indicated:-

Y/58/07/

Replace private cat houses with 8 single cattery units.

Oakview North End Road Yapton OBJECTION

The reasons for the Committee’s objections are set out below:

1) The Parish Council objected to the original application to establish a cattery at this residential address. A subsequent application by the owner for a garden pergola and cat run combination was also the subject of an objection by the Parish Council (copies of objections attached for ease of reference).

2) Oakview is a residential address in North End Road and is unsuitable for use for business purposes. It is in a residential area comprising only homes and not businesses; the two do not mix happily. If approval to the current application was granted it would establish a precedent.

3) The Parish Council remains concerned that a business is being conducted on the premises. It therefore reiterates its previous request for an enforcement officer to investigate and report on the present usage of the premises as a cattery prior to the latest application being considered by the Development Control Committee.
