PLANNING APPLICATIONS

The Planning Committee had before them and considered the following planning application and resolved as indicated:-

Prior Notification for development consisting of installation of a 15 monopole mast with 2G antennas and associated equipment cabinets

Orchard Business Park Church Lane Yapton For: O2 (UK) Ltd OBJECTION

The reasons for the objection were as follows:

1)    The proposed site for the mast is very close to the Yapton CE Primary in North End Road. Alternative sites away from the school and nearby residential properties should be explored.

2) The existing tree line is, as stated on the plans, around 12 metres. The full height of the proposed mast is 15 metres. The proposed mast would therefore be visible particularly from the North and East and have an adverse impact on the neighbourhood.

3) The Council is concerned that were the application to be approved this would create a precedent for other masts to be located at this site which would be difficult to resist.
