YAPTON PARISH COUNCIL
PLANNING COMMITTEE
15 September 2006 – At a meeting of the Planning Committee held in Yapton
Present: Mr Faulkner (Chairman), Mr Andrews, Mr Fellows, Mrs Barnes and Mr Jones.
PLANNING APPLICATIONS
The Planning Committee had before them and considered the following planning application and resolved as indicated:-
|
Y/30/06/ |
Outline application for eighteen semi-detached two storey houses (Departure from the Development Plan) |
Land at Cinders Lane Off Bilsham Road Yapton For: Frank Smith
OBJECTION |
1) The land proposed for development is not within the current Development Plan.
2)
Cinders Lane, even with substantial enhancement, would appear to be an
inadequate access route for a development of this size particularly in terms of
road width and associated pedestrian pavements.
3) The sighting at the junction of Bilsham Road and Cinders Lane is poor due to substantial on street parking in Bilsham Road at this location.
4) The Council is unconvinced appropriate improvements can be made to the sighting at Bilsham Road and Cinders Lane itself is too narrow to provide a proper access suitable for two vehicles to pass throughout its length particularly with a pedestrian pavement even if only on one side of the proposed carriageway.
