YAPTON PARISH COUNCIL
PLANNING COMMITTEE
10 February 2006 – At a meeting of the Planning Committee held in Yapton
Present: Mr Faulkner (Chairman), Mr Andrews, Mr Fellows, Mrs Barnes and Mr Jones.
PLANNING APPLICATIONS
The Planning Committee had before them and considered the following planning application and resolved as indicated:-
|
Y/1/06/ |
Erection of 2 bedroom house. |
Land rear of Hope Cottage Bilsham Road Yapton For: Mr & Mrs Beckett
OBJECTION |
1) Whilst parking has been considered with two parking bays
off the Belmont Terrace side of the proposed building it is felt that visitors’
would also park in Bilsham Road at what is a dangerous location with limited
sighting.
2) The Parish Council has previously objected to an adjacent
application Y/54/05 immediately opposite this development because there
appeared to be insufficient off-road parking. Large vehicles including
double-decker buses use this road regularly.
3) Photographs (see
copy attached) have been taken to highlight the proposed area from the
north and south of Bilsham Road (NB: the
new fencing to the left and right of each picture for the location of the
proposed new dwelling). A picture of Belmont Terrace has also been
included where the entrance to the parking area is proposed. There is no
apparent parking area for Hope Cottage as this is absorbed in the new property.
4) The Council considers the site to be already overcrowded. If one takes the area of land this proposed new dwelling will be located on, it would appear that this would be over development. Road safety is also an issue which needs to be given careful consideration.
