YAPTON PARISH COUNCIL
PLANNING COMMITTEE
22 January 2004 - At a meeting of the Planning Committee held in Yapton.
Present: Mr
Faulkner (Chairman), Mrs Barnes, Mr Fellows, Mr Jones and
Mr Tompsett.
PLANNING
APPLICATIONS FOR YAPTON
The Planning Committee had before them and
considered the following planning application(s) and resolved as indicated:-
|
Y/81/03/ |
Garden pergola and cat run combination for owner’s pets |
Oakview North End Road Yapton OBJECTION
|
The Committee’s objections are as follows:
1) The Parish Council’s objections to the original application to
establish a cattery at this address were disregarded (copy of letter attached for ease of reference). As a consequence there is now a situation
where there is an on-going nuisance problem experienced by adjacent property
owners as a result of the approval to the establishment of a cattery in what is
clearly a residential area.
2) The Council is unhappy with a retrospective planning application as
the applicant would seem to be fully aware of the need to obtain planning
permission for his business as he had already done so for the original
application.
3) The Council find it hard to accept that the garden pergola and cat
run combination are simply required for the “owner’s pets”. It would seem that the additions have been
provided and will be used to enable an extension to the applicant’s business
and thus it will increase the nuisance already experienced by the adjacent
property owners.
4) The Parish Council ask that:
(a) the enforcement officer
investigate the present usage of the premises having regard to the
conditions laid down when
the planning permission was granted;
(b) that its objection to
this new development be reported to the
Development Control
Committee when it considers the application.

Land to West of 40 Tack Lee Road Yapton OBSERVATION |
It is noted that the plans which accompany this application are out of
date and do not indicate the position of “The Pines” cul de sac and the
associated housing thereon. The Council consider before commenting that the
application should be re-submitted with up-to-date plans being provided.

Y/85/03/ |
New double garage & vehicular access to main road |
April Cottage Main Road Yapton OBSERVATION |
It is noted that this application has been
submitted by a company, Prime Securities Ltd.
The Council consider before commenting that it should be established
whether there has been a change of use of the property from residential to
commercial, or if such a change of use is being contemplated.
