YAPTON PARISH COUNCIL
PLANNING COMMITTEE
7 July 2003 - At a meeting of the Planning Committee held in Yapton.
Present: Mr
Faulkner (Chairman), Mrs Barnes, Mr Fellows, Mr Jones and
Mr Tompsett.
PLANNING
APPLICATIONS FOR YAPTON
The Planning Committee had before them and
considered the following planning application(s) and resolved as indicated:-
|
Y/14/03/ |
Construction of new glasshouses on sites L1 and L2 including provision of toilets, installation of boiler and provision of chimney. Construction of 2 reservoirs. Construction of road access. (This application affects a Public Right of Way) Dual Parish with Main File BN/14/03. |
Pollards Lake Lane Barnham OBJECTION |
The reasons for the objection were as follows:
1) If approved, the proposed development would
effectively close the strategic gap between Barnham and Yapton;
2) The development would cause light pollution of the
surrounding area;
3) The increase in heavy vehicular traffic as a result
of the development, on the existing unsuitable infrastructure, would be
unacceptable;
4) Lake Lane has recently seen a major increase in
large vehicle movements, in particular articulated vehicles, serving the many
greenhouses in this area, The Council has
concerns about road and rail safety with such vehicles at Yapton level crossing
when arriving or departing from Lake Lane.
5) The change in siting of the
road access is unsatisfactory being closer to adjacent
housing and unfavourable to local residents.

St Marys Church Church Lane Yapton OBSERVATION |
The Planning
Committee consider that the disabled toilet facilities should only be open for
use during church services/events to help deter vandalism.
