MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE HELD ON 

13th May 2002

 

 

Present:    David Ranceford-Hadley (Chairman), Peter Bryant, Michael Fellows, Stephen Haymes, Merle Palmer, Peter Rowlandson and Gary Tompsett. 

 

 

The Planning Committee had before them and considered the plans relating to the following applications, which had been submitted to the Planning Officer of Arun District Council, and RESOLVED as indicated: -

 

 

 

 

 

 

PLANNING APPLICATION No.   Y/36/02

Change of use from agricultural storage to B1 use – Land off Bilsham Lane, Bilsham

 

That an objection to the application be submitted to the Planning officer of Arun District Council on the following grounds:

 

1.   Insufficient information is given to make a considered judgement on such a sensitive site;

 

2.   Insufficient information is given as to the actual use proposed and likely consequential traffic flows;

 

3.   Bilsham Lane is a twisting, narrow, single track with no footpaths or passing-bays.  A pedestrian and traffic hazard would be created;

 

4.   The proposed change of use would be detrimental to environment and amenity of the residents of this small hamlet;

 

5.   The site is outside the Development area.

 

6.   There is an existing surplus of B1 Units to let in the Yapton and Ford area.
